The 117 series is a limited expression lineup that debuted in Spring 2021. Whiskey Row Fire commemorates the anniversary of a fire that nearly destroyed Whiskey Row 7 years ago. Whiskey Row Fire is made from a blend of single barrels chosen by the Louisville Fire Department and aged at nearly 7 years. These barrels are fully mature and wise in character.

The 2022 Birthday Bourbon is presented at 96 proof. After showing exceptionally unique character during a tasting panel, the 11-year old barrels were chosen specifically for Birthday Bourbon. The full allotment of product represents one day’s production of Old Forester.

Old Forester is proud to present the second release of its highly acclaimed KY only offering, 117 Series: Warehouse K. This limited expression features a blend of barrels aged on different floors from a warehouse known to produce exceptional liquid. Constructed in 1953, Warehouse K uses the time-honored tradition of heat-cycling and has long been one of Old Forester’s favorite places for Single Barrel expressions. This blend represents liquid from multiple floors and locations within Warehouse K, giving a more holistic example of the profile its barrels yield.

The President’s Choice is a single barrel expression of Old Forester’s most exceptional barrels, hand-selected by our company President.
The President’s Choice was historically, and is today, driven by the palate and knowledge of Old Forester’s current President. Each barrel in our modern iteration is personally chosen by President and fifth-generation Brown family member Campbell Brown. Referencing prior iterations of this historic label, these barrels will be typically aged eight years and will vary in the traditional range of 110-120 proof.

Old Forester will release the 21st iteration of its limited-edition, vintage-dated Birthday Bourbon on Sept. 2 in celebration of founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday. This year marks the 151st year of the company he began in 1870. The 2021 Birthday Bourbon will be bottled at 104 proof and is made up of 119 barrels, aged 12 years, and barreled on April 16, 2009. After showing exceptionally unique character during a tasting panel, the 12-year-old barrels were chosen specifically for this year’s Birthday Bourbon.

Since the release of Old Forester Rye in 2019, fans of the brand have been clamoring to try it at barrel strength, and weʼre excited to deliver. For the first time in the brandʼs 150 year history, Old Forester is elated to present this new expression, unfiltered, as a single barrel at barrel strength. As such, each barrel will have it’s own unique tasting notes and various proofs – but all distinctly Old Forester Rye. This expression, although extremely limited, will be available nationwide though not through Old Foresterʼs private By the Barrel program.

Old Forester Single Barrel is crafted using the time-honored methods established over 140 years ago. Depending on the whiskey barrel selected and the angel’s share lost to evaporation during aging the barrel, each Old Forester Single Barrel selection should produce between 200 to 240 750ml bottles of bourbon.

On October 22nd. 1910, a fire on the bottling line halted production of Old Forester. Mature whisky ready to be bottled, instead was stored in a secondary barrel. What emerged was a delightful whisky, remarkable enough to become an entirely new expressions – Old Fine Whisky. Today mimicking this historic bottling, this unique expression of Old Forester has undergone a second barreling, granting it exceptional character, a smooth and sweet flavor and a clean, crisp finish. Entering the second barrel at a low 100 proof allows more of the sweet wood sugars to dissolve into the whiskey.
