History of the French 75 Cocktail

The cocktail was allegedly developed by a World War I fighter aircraft pilot of French and American origin who found champagne a bit short in the potency division. The arising cocktail was so powerful he stated it felt like being on the receiving end of a French 75mm howitzer artillery unit -- therefore the title.
